Quzhou's import and export value totaled 39.03 billion yuan ($5.49 billion) from January to August, an increase of 28.8 percent over the same period last year, according to the Quzhou Customs.

Exports were valued at 26.18 billion yuan, up 38.1 percent year-on-year, the second highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.

As the core area of the city's industrial economy, the total value of the Quzhou intelligent manufacturing park's imports and exports stood at 24.75 billion yuan from January to August, up 27 percent year-on-year and accounting for 63.4 percent of the city's total.

The rapid export growth during this period can be attributed the local government's strong support.

In order to help enterprises overcome financing problems amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the local government issued more than 40 million yuan in tax refunds.

In addition, to encourage foreign trade enterprises to explore the market with a new model, the local government has issued support policies for "exhibition representative services", which means that exhibits will be displayed at overseas exhibitions and overseas personnel will receive international buyers on site and connect with domestic enterprises for real-time negotiations.
