Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province ranked 12th among the 339 prefecture-level cities in China for surface water quality from January to September, up 13 places from its highest level in the same period last year.

Among the city's 21 surface water monitoring sections above the municipal control level in the assessment, 100 percent of the sections' water quality was graded classⅠ-Ⅲ, among which 23.8 percent of the sections were graded classⅠand 76.2 percent were classⅡ.

The proportion of the water environment functional area meeting water quality standards was 100 percent.
