Grapefruit in Changshan county, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, recently entered harvest season.

The planting area of grapefruit in Changshan county totaled 106,000 mu (7,066 hectares), and about 100,000 people are engaged in the cultivation, production and sale of the fruit.

The Dabaoshan grapefruit base in Tonggong township, Changshan county, covering an area of 480 mu, is expected to achieve an output value of 4 million yuan ($558,285).

This year, the yield of the Dabaoshan grapefruit base is about 800,000 kilograms, an increase of about 100,000 kg over last year.

In 2021, the output of grapefruit in the county reached 126,000 metric tons. This year, due to drought and other factors, the overall yield will decrease slightly, but the quality of the fruit has improved significantly. The price of high-quality grapefruit will be more than 8 yuan per kg, and incomes will not decrease despite the decline in production, according to Yang Xingliang, deputy director of the Changshan agriculture and rural affairs bureau.
