Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province launched inhalable COVID-19 vaccines on Dec 5 in Huayuan sub-district, Kecheng district.

Inhalable COVID-19 vaccines are often described as convenient, quick, painless and slightly sweet.

During the vaccination process, the vaccine is atomized into an aerosol cup using a special atomizing device.

Inhalation can be divided into three steps: exhale, inhale and hold your breath. Specifically, breathe out, inhale the drug in the atomization cup and hold your breath for at least five seconds.

Inhalable vaccines can produce mucosal immunity and inhibit virus colonization and propagation in the respiratory tract.

The inhalable vaccine is currently free of charge, just like other COVID-19 vaccines.

It is mainly used to boost immunity. People aged 18-59 need to have completed basic immunization at least six months ago and people aged 60 and above need to have completed basic immunization at least three months ago to receive vaccination.

In addition, the inhalable COVID-19 vaccine does not affect nucleic acid test results.

All counties, cities and districts in the city will soon carry out an inhalable COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
