Yiwu's GDP up 0.9% in H1

The regional gross domestic product (GDP) of Yiwu municipality expanded by 0.9 percent year on year to 66.94 billion yuan ($9.56 billion) in the first half of this year.
The value-added output of the primary industry rose by 4.6 percent to 985 million yuan in H1, while that of the tertiary industry witnessed a 3 percent year-on-year growth to 47.71 billion yuan in the same period.
The total retail sales of consumer goods of Yiwu fell by 3.9 percent year-on-year to 44.85 billion yuan, while the consumption of enterprises above designated size fell by 9.6 percent year-on-year to 8.89 billion yuan.
Yiwu's total export value increased by 18.6 percent to 31.53 billion yuan in May, and the total value of imports rose by 10.9 percent to 960 million.
The deposit balance of financial institutions in Yiwu increased by 46.62 billion in the first half of the year, recording a growth of 18.8 percent, and the loan balance increased by 47.73 billion, with a growth of 22.5 percent.
Local authorities said the statistics indicate that Yiwu has overcome the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and shown a steady economic rebound.
