The 7th Run with Yiwu: Global Youth Business Program (GYBP) started on Aug 11 in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, attracting 30 young people from 23 countries.
The program is sponsored by the municipal government and organized by the city's foreign affairs office. From Aug 11 to 15, it will provide e-commerce, trade, and logistics training, as well as opportunities to experience Chinese culture.
At the opening ceremony, He Shaoqing, deputy director of Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, introduced Yiwu’s international educational resources and encouraged trainees to start businesses in the city.
Wu Dan, director of the municipal foreign affairs office, encouraged foreign youth to take advantage of Yiwu’s business environment to build closer ties with locals.
Through activities such as sharing sessions, corporate internships, and cultural experiences, the program is meant to serve as a platform for international people-to-people exchange.
GYBP was first launched in April 2018 and has had six sessions so far. It has trained 206 outstanding young people from all over the world.
Participants not only gain hands-on knowledge and hone their business skills, but also have an opportunity to make new friends and discover new business opportunities.
