The winter village gala demonstration event of the National "Four Seasons Village Gala" kicked off with gusto on Jan 11 in Gefan village located in Liandu district, Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province.

Amid bursts of enthusiastic applause, a variety of spectacular performances captivated local residents and tourists, immersing them in a rich festive atmosphere.

In recent years, Lishui has actively promoted the development of village Spring Festival galas, focusing on transforming and upgrading these events. Through various special activities, Lishui has integrated village galas with the New Year goods festivals, cultural activities, and fairs, creating a much more interactive and fun experience.

"The standard system of Lishui's village Spring Festival galas not only enhances the appeal of the performances, but also aids in the preservation and development of traditional culture," said Jiang Jianping, deputy director of the Standardization Research Center at the Zhejiang Institute of Quality Sciences.

Lishui leads the nation in the standardization of village Spring Festival galas – having established a comprehensive standardization system and released three municipal-level standards covering the construction standard, performance standard, and evaluation standard.

Zhou Lijun, director of the Lishui municipal bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, announced that in 2025 the city would host over 500 village Spring Festival gala-themed events, featuring intangible cultural heritage performances, folk songs and dances, as well as fun agricultural activities.
