A group of Japanese and South Korean delegates who attended the 4th China-Japan-South Korea Business Conference visited Keqiao district, Shaoxing, on May 26.

"We love Shaoxing's yellow rice wine. It is quite famous in Japan," said a Japanese delegate surnamed Takashima during a visit to the Yellow Rice Wine Museum.

"Shaoxing's wine shares similar brewing techniques with South Korea's rice wine and our sake," he said. "More cooperation should be carried out between wine brewers in Japan and China."

At China Textile City, Kim Hong-gi, the chief executive vice president of the Korea Chamber of Commerce in China, noted that the district's textile industrial chain is complete and boasts a superior logistics network and business environment.

"Just a moment ago, I recommended Keqiao to a family member who's in the fabric business. Next, I will recommend the district's functional fabrics to our member companies," he said.

According to local authorities, Keqiao's foreign trade volumes with Japan and South Korea are currently valued at $170 million and $320 million respectively.

Since 2000, 29 Japanese companies and 162 South Korean companies have invested in Shaoxing. Over 300 Japanese and South Korean expats are working as traders, managers, or researchers in the district.
