Consul generals of European countries in Shanghai met with local government authorities in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province on July 8.

The two sides exchanged ideas on expanding cooperation between Shaoxing and European companies and government organizations.

According to the municipal bureau of commerce, Shaoxing's trade with European countries in 2020 was valued at $7.46 billion. There are currently 594 European firms operating in Shaoxing and 210 projects in Europe managed by Shaoxing companies. 

The municipal government has to date forged friendship ties or signed cooperation agreements with 31 European cities.
