Cross-Strait entrepreneurs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on Feb 28.

The day witnessed the signing of five significant investment projects spanning sectors like lightweight vehicle bodies, integrated circuits, and precision semiconductor components.

Wei Wei, Shaoxing's top political advisor, emphasized seizing this moment to implement and refine policies favorable to Taiwan, enhancing value-added services, and fostering an optimal business ecosystem.

Shaoxing boasts a robust market with over 730,000 entities, ranking fourth nationwide in listed companies, exceeding 100. Its contribution to foreign trade, accounting for over 1.4 percent of the national total, underscores its openness to international cooperation.

Zhejiang stands out as a premier destination for investment from Taiwan, with more than 11,000 approved Taiwan-funded enterprises and actual investments exceeding $32.8 billion.

The event includes site visits to key locations like the Cross-Strait (Shaoxing) Digital Industry Cooperation Zone and other focal points, along with engaging activities such as a Cross-Strait Entrepreneur Golf Invitational and a salon for young entrepreneurs from both regions.

The event in Shaoxing marks the commencement of the Zhejiang journey for Taiwan entrepreneurs, with subsequent stops planned across various cities in the province.
