Shaoxing's textile industry has earned recognition as one of China's top 100 industrial clusters. With 1,929 textile enterprises and a workforce of 219,000, the city's textile sector continues to flourish.

At the heart of this success lies China Textile City, Asia's largest textile trading market. Every year, a quarter of the world's textile fabric transactions take place here, with sales extending to over 190 countries and regions. The synergy between local enterprises and this bustling marketplace has contributed significantly to Shaoxing's textile industry, fostering robust growth and stability.

Despite global economic fluctuations, Shaoxing's textile industry has remained steadfast, achieving a total output value of 222.67 billion yuan ($30.72 billion) in 2023, marking a 1.2 percent year-on-year growth.

Looking ahead, Shaoxing aims to further strengthen its textile sector, leveraging its rich industrial heritage and market advantages to drive sustainable growth and innovation. By nurturing talent, enhancing production techniques, and expanding market reach, the city continues to cement its position as a textile powerhouse in China and beyond.
