The movie Lost Girl, starring Shang Yisha, a native of Xinchang county, Shaoxing, held a meet-and-greet event at the Lu Xun Cinema in Shaoxing on May 20.

"This is a heartwarming story of one girl helping another, and I would recommend family, friends, and classmates to come and watch," said Xu Jiayi, a freshman at Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College, at the event.

Lost Girl was released nationwide on May 17 this year. It tells the story of a ballet girl, Yu Liu, who runs away from home and befriends an urban orphan named San'er. The two girls maintain a friendship and companionship for four years.

When the ballet girl has an accident, San'er, based on the ballet girl's past stories, decides to seek the truth for her. However, what San'er doesn't know is that Yu has buried a secret. In this Rashomon-like memory, the ending leaves San'er in a dilemma.

The film focuses on the intertwining of different fates, depicting the different struggles of grassroots characters. Under the torrent of fate, each person strives to survive and strives to change reality. Shang Yisha, who plays San'er, portrays the process of a once innocent, cheerful girl becoming sensitive, fragile, rebellious, and taciturn after encountering life's setbacks.

"To embody this character, I gained up to 32 pounds at most, cut my hair three times," Shang said. She noted that she and San'er are very similar in that "we are both striving to live, striving to pursue our dreams."

"My career in the arts began in Shaoxing," Shang added. It is for this reason that she chose to bring her work back to Shaoxing this time, to share it with the hometown audience, and hopefully to inspire more viewers.
