The inaugural meeting of the Yuecheng District International Chamber of Commerce and its first member assembly were held in Yuecheng district, Shaoxing on Dec 10.

The chamber currently has 105 member units, covering traditional industries such as textiles and clothing, hardware and electrical machinery, and yellow rice wine, as well as emerging industries like integrated circuits and medical devices.

At its inception, the chamber of commerce systematically summarized and organized its functions. During the meeting, it released the "Eight Major Initiatives of Yuecheng District International Chamber of Commerce to Serve Enterprises", which encompass various aspects such as market expansion, bilateral investment, commercial mediation, and information sharing.

For example, in terms of market expansion, the chamber will organize enterprises to participate in international exhibitions to help them explore global markets. In commercial mediation, it will establish a joint mediation model of "full-time mediators and expert mediators" to provide professional mediation services for commercial disputes.

As of 2023, Yuecheng district has established trade relations with 231 countries and regions.

Currently, the district has 1,648 foreign trade enterprises with export performance. From January to October 2024, 153 enterprises had exports exceeding 50 million yuan ($7.02 million), and 11 new foreign-invested enterprises were established.

The total import and export volume reached 34.6 billion yuan, with exports totaling 32.4 billion yuan. Direct foreign investment amounted to $102.09 million, and actual utilized foreign capital was $8.41 million.
