Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone expands logistics center
The construction of the second phase of the bonded logistics center in the Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone commenced in Dec 2024.
"The second phase officially broke ground at the beginning of December and is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026," said an official with the Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone. The expanded logistics center will accommodate more enterprises.
The second phase will feature two bonded logistics warehouses, each three stories tall, with a total construction area of 64,000 square meters, according to the project official.
The first phase, which includes four bonded warehouses (including cold storage), was completed last year. With its large-scale and high-standard construction, it ranks among the top in the province.
Currently, 15 companies have settled in the first phase, primarily engaged in cross-border e-commerce, dealing in products such as baby supplies, cosmetics, food, and pet food. The warehouses in the first phase are nearly fully leased. The completion of the second phase will meet the needs of more import and export enterprises.
So far, over 40 cross-border e-commerce companies have set up operations in the Shaoxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone, dealing in around 500 types of cross-border goods.
Conducting cross-border e-commerce in the bonded center allows for bulk container imports, followed by online retail, significantly reducing international shipping costs and speeding up delivery to consumers, thus enhancing the shopping experience.
Shaoxing now hosts more than 6,000 cross-border e-commerce enterprises. In the first three quarters of 2024, cross-border e-commerce exports exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.37 billion).
