The Dinghai Fishing Port Economic Zone in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has been selected for the national-level coastal fishing port economic zones pilot program for 2024, as recently announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

A total of seven fishing port economic zones in the province have been included in the program.

The Dinghai zone, an upgraded version of a modern fishing port, will integrate various functions such as fishing boat shelter and supply, fish trade, cold chain logistics, advanced processing, marine pharmaceuticals, leisure tourism, and urban development.

The primary goals of this initiative are to improve the living standards of fishermen and enhance the basic supporting facilities of fishing ports. The Dinghai Fishing Port Economic Zone aims to become an economic venue characterized by seafood trade, advanced seafood processing, logistics distribution, and new fishermen's villages, according to authorities.
