The Dongtian Art Museum in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province is set to open to the public on July 6.

The museum, repurposed from an air raid shelter, is a great summer getaway along the well-known Donghai Greenway.

More than 80 printed works will be displayed on panels on both sides of the museum. In front of the panels, a variety of purple clay teapots will be showcased in transparent display cases, including works by renowned masters like Gu Jingzhou (1915-96).

The museum will also exhibit 99 paper-cut artworks featuring the Chinese character for "福" (fortune), a large-scale woodcarving of the Nine Dragon Screen, and 100 Chinese ink paintings created by well-known domestic artists, according to Xia Yuanyuan, a staff member at the museum.

In addition, a viewing platform adjacent to the museum will open by the end of the month, promising a serene escape from the summer heat and offering visitors a panoramic vista of the cityscape.
