Photo exhibition of Western Xia launched in Quanzhou

A photo exhibition of the Western Xia Dynasty (1038-1227) was launched at the Quanzhou Museum of Overseas Chinese History in Quanzhou, a city in East China's Fujian province, on International Museum Day on May 18.

Organized by both the Xixia Museum in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and the Quanzhou Museum of Overseas Chinese History, the exhibition will last until May 31.

The exhibition showcases the unique charm of characters from the Western Xia Dynasty through more than 150 distinctive photos in the collection of Xixia Museum, allowing Quanzhou citizens to learn more about the mysterious and distant history of the Western Xia Dynasty.

It is of great significance in the promotion of the Silk Road cultural exchange between Quanzhou and Ningxia, as well as the construction of the Belt and Road.

To celebrate International Museum Day on May 18 and China Tourism Day on May 19, Quanzhou has launched 27 cultural exhibitions, 25 cultural tourism preferential measures, 12 themed activities and 10 tourism routes.

From May 18, many museums in Quanzhou have started reopening. They have all adopted the online real-name system for appointments to ensure safety and order during the prevention and control period of the COVID-19 epidemic.
