In recent years, Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, has taken multiple steps to improve the quality of its agricultural industry, and has achieved remarkable results in the development of its agricultural product brands.

Since this year, five agricultural products in Quanzhou have won recognition as national geographical indication products, due to their distinctive regional characteristics, huge development potential, and high market recognition.

They are the Chinese yam of Anxi county, carrots and tusundong (or seaworm jelly) of Jinjiang city, and black chicken and fresh ginger of Dehua county.

In addition, eight agricultural products in the city were rated as green food.

In order to protect the brand value of its agricultural products, Quanzhou bureau of agriculture and rural affairs will strengthen technical specifications for the quality control of geographical indications of agricultural products, and establish a product quality control system.

The bureau will also support the establishment or improvement of brand experience halls, landmark product cultural museums or product display centers to enhance brand awareness of agricultural products.
