Quanzhou acts to boost culture, tourism offerings for break

The city of Quanzhou in East China's Fujian province is looking to boost its culture tourism activities during the upcoming National Day holiday and Mid-Autumn Festival on Oct 1-8.

The city has planned and organized a series of cultural tourism-themed events and will launch various other fun things to do, both online and offline.

As the highlight of the annual National Day holiday, the Quanzhou Cultural and Creative Market and the 3rd South Fujian Good Life Festival will be held as scheduled.

A series of cultural tourism activities with dynamic and rich themes will also be staged in the ancient city.

Chaole village, Chongwu town, Huian county in Quanzhou has for many years hosted folk cultural activities like the Shuiguanyue Cultural Tourism Festival and the Shuiguanyue Poem Recreation Festival and plans to do the same this year on Oct 1-3.

Locals who love lantern riddles can also go to Jinjiang, a county-level city in Quanzhou, to participate in the lantern riddle exhibition guessing activities organized by the Jinjiang Cultural Center and the Lantern Riddle Association.

During the holiday, cultural institutions in the city will also launch online themed folk activities relating to the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Quanzhou Maritime Museum will have cartoons introducing the traditional folk customs of Quanzhou during the Mid-Autumn Festival, on its WeChat public account.

In addition, a number of parent-child fun activities will he held, such as a moon cake making activity and a music and food banquet -- giving parents and kids the chance to take time out and have a ball together.
