Five Stars Rising in the East: The Belt and Road International Fine Arts Exhibition will be held on the third and fourth floors of the Quanzhou Maritime Museum Islamic Culture Exhibition Hall from Dec 9, 2023 to Jan 8, 2024.

This exhibition will present several hundred works by artists from countries and regions along the land and maritime Silk Road, using a narrative approach that transcends time and space.

The works cover various art forms such as traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, and sculptures, and span from the traditional to the modern, and from realism to abstraction. Through their diverse artistic languages, the artists compose a beautiful story of "cultural connection, spiritual bond, and emotional interdependence".

Visitors can through the exhibition understand the exchanges and integration of different eras and cultures, and contemplate the diversity and inclusiveness of art and culture to build "a community of shared interests, shared future, and shared responsibility on the bases of mutual political trust, economic integration, and cultural inclusion", said the curator.
