As a crucial part of the fifth Maritime Silk Road International Art Festival, the opening ceremony of the 14th International Quanzhou Nanyin Symposium is to open at the Quanzhou Liyuan Opera Classical Theater at 7:30 pm today.

Consisting of a prelude, first part and second part, the opening ceremony performance "Nanyin Drifting Along Maritime Silk Road · Moon Shining Bright in Homeland" features both well-known traditional repertoires and innovative repertoire performances.

This event is large in scale, with 38 Nanyin associations from home and abroad participating. A commemorative ceremony for Langjun, a Nanyin symposium, and closing a ceremony will also be held.

For thousands of years, Nanyin has spread all over the world as Quanzhou people have traveled abroad, making it the most widely-spread Quanzhou intangible cultural heritage item. It is deeply loved by Fujian people both at home and abroad.
