The unassuming city of Tianshui, in Northwest China's Gansu province, is experiencing a tourism boom fueled by its signature dish, the fiery malatang hotpot.
On April 8, Tianshui city welcomed a record number of visitors, with 159,500 tourists generating tourism revenue of 90 million yuan ($12.44 million). In a display of heartfelt hospitality, the appreciative people of Gansu offered the highest cultural tribute to guests from all over the world by presenting the classic Chinese dance drama Flower Rains Along The Silk Road.
Nestled at the foot of the Qilian Mountains, Zhangye city in Gansu province is witnessing a remarkable transformation in its agricultural landscape. With the discovery of 302,800 mu (approximately 20,187 hectares) of selenium-rich soil, the region is embracing a new era of agricultural prosperity.
Zhangye's Ganzhou district experienced a tourism boom during the Qingming holiday, as countless tourists were attracted by the exhilarating blend of outdoor recreations at Zhangye National Desert Sports Park.
