A group of media personnel from 24 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states participated in the SCO National Media Delegation Qingdao Tour activity on July 7, ahead of the Green Development Forum of SCO Countries, which is being held in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, on July 8 and 9.

They paid a visit to some well-known enterprises, such as Hisense, Haier, and Shandong Port Group (SPG), where they had the opportunity to understand firsthand the achievements of Qingdao's enterprises in areas such as technological innovation and green, low-carbon development.

Based in Qingdao, Hisense Group has always placed strong emphasis on the research and application of energy-saving and environmentally friendly new materials and technologies. Over the years, with display and image processing technologies at its core, Hisense has become deeply deployed in the ecosystem of the visual industrial chain, focusing on three major areas: home, commercial, and automotive. The company's independently developed ULED X and laser display, two high-end technological platforms, are world leaders.

"This is my second time in China, and each time I come, I experience something different. Today, I visited companies in Qingdao and felt that they are developing very well, with many technologies leading internationally," said the associate editor-in-chief of Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm.

He expressed hope that more Chinese companies would come to his country and that more SCO partners would increase mutual understanding and cooperation.

The group also had the chance to explore Qingdao Port, a subsidiary of SPG, where they were captivated by the world's first automated container terminal powered by hydrogen and 5G networks, leaving the foreign media personnel in awe.

"The technology and progress of modernized ports have left a deep impression on me. Chinese technology is heavily influencing the global development process," said the editor-in-chief of Pakistan's The Nation. He added that his city is also a port city and expressed hope that Qingdao companies would collaborate and develop in his country, developing an advanced, fully automated terminal similar to Qingdao Port.

Qingdao, as a city with a rich industrial heritage and a manufacturing base, provides fertile ground for the development of new quality productive forces, whether it is the upgrading of traditional industries, the growth of emerging industries, or the layout of future industries. Companies like Haier, Hisense, Tsingtao Brewery, and Qingdao Port have played important exemplary roles in the green, low-carbon, high-quality development of Qingdao.

"This is my first time visiting China, and the city of Qingdao has left me with a deep impression. The city is very green, and people here are very concerned about the environment, which is rare to see," said general manager of an Armenian newspaper.
