Foreigners in Beijing celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival
This year's Mid-autumn Festival fell on September 18. On this special occasion, the "2021 Mid-Autumn Gathering for Foreign Talents in Beijing" was held at the Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions. Nearly 100 people from countries including the United States, Canada, and the UK participated in the activity.
Co-hosted by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center and Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions, and co-organized by Beijing Chaoyang High-level Talent Service Center and Enying Innovation International Think Tank, the Mid-Autumn Festival gathering included concerts, lectures on Suzhou embroidery and Mid-Autumn Festival customs, mooncake and lantern making, Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as a tai chi performance.

Liu Minhua, deputy director and second-level inspector of the Beijing Talent Work Bureau, attended the activity and delivered a speech. Other scholars and experts attending the event include Caucher Birkar, a professor at Tsinghua University and winner of the Fields Medal, Yuan Zhiliang, chief scientist of the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Science, Rudolf Podgornik, a professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Hao Mingkai, winner of the China Media Group Friendship Award.
