Yanqi Lake Convention Center through foreign experts' lens

The first "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest was held at the Yanqi Lake Convention Center on Oct 22, with over 20 foreign experts from 10 countries including Russia, South Korea, Pakistan, Cuba, and Morocco participating.

The activity was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Beijing Overseas Talents Center. It attracted foreign scientists, researchers, business managers and foreign language editors from institutions including the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, Xiaomi Communication Technology Co, People's Daily Online.

As the main venue for the 2014 APEC and the two "Belt and Road" Forums for International Cooperation, the Yanqi Lake Convention Center plays an important part in Beijing's role as an international exchange center. The offline theme films focus on "serving the country's overall diplomacy".
The contestants lingered around the conference center, the nine-floor view deck, and the logo of the "Belt and Road" Forums, listening to and recording the improvement of facilities and services in major international exchanges, which fully demonstrate the achievements Beijing has made in strengthening its function as an international exchange center.

The "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest, jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Guangming Online, kicked off on 12 October.
It aims to show an internationalized Beijing through short videos shot by people of different nationalities, careers and ages. The videos, with nearly 6 million views on Kuaishou, a popular live-streaming platform in China, cast an authentic, dimensional and comprehensive image of Beijing as a global city with vigor and unique charisma, drawing extensive attention among local citizens, institutions and foreigners.
Later there will be three more offline shooting activities at the Daxing International Airport, international schools and hospitals in Beijing to highlight the city's high level opening-up, international education and health care.
