The Parallel Forum on Quantum Information Science of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 'Shedding Light on Quantum' Forum held
From November 3 to 4, the Parallel Forum on Quantum Information Science of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the "Shedding Light on Quantum" Forum were jointly held by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center (BOTC) and the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS). The forums aim to build a platform for excellent young scholars from home and abroad to conduct academic exchanges and share their achievements.
The opening ceremony of the forum was hosted by Zhuang Shuo, assistant president of the BAQIS, with Cai Xin, deputy director of the BOTC and Long Guilu, vice president for research of the BAQIS, delivering speeches at the ceremony. Lang Jianlei, deputy director general of the department of talent development of the Beijing Talent Bureau, attended the activity.
Cai introduced that Beijing is an international center for science and technology innovation, and that science and technology and talents are Beijing's biggest advantage. In order to attract high-level talents, Beijing has consistently optimized the innovation and entrepreneurship environment and strengthened services for talents. Cai expressed his hope that young scientific and technological talents from around the world can fully learn about Beijing's environment for innovation and the scientific research strength of the BAQIS through the forum, contributing wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of Beijing's economy and society. Cai stressed that Beijing will provide better policies and services for the career development of young scientific and technological talents.

Long said in his speech that the quantum information science, especially the quantum computing research are in high-speed development. More than 40 countries including China have made plans for quantum information science. The frontier competition of quantum information science is heating up. The BAQIS conducts flexible mechanism for attracting and cultivating talents, making talents as the engine for development. He hoped more outstanding talents can join in the BAQIS to create a brighter future together.

Chang Kai, a research fellow of the BAQIS shared his work at the academy and life as a representative of introduced outstanding young talents. Fifteen experts from the United States, Israel, Germany, Switzerland and Japan gave academic reports on quantum information science development, including quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum precision measurement.

During the forum, the BOTC held a series of professional parallel forums on cutting-edge technologies. The "Shedding Light on Quantum" Parallel Forum fully demonstrated the BAQIS's scientific research strength and its standing as a career development platform. The forum attracted young scholars from the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and other countries and regions to discuss current academic topics in the quantum field, and to participate in communication and cooperation, greatly advancing technological cooperation and talent communication.
