Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture

Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture is the only architectural university in Beijing. It is a university jointly built by Beijing and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, an advanced university for Party building and ideological and political work in Beijing, and a high-level characteristic university determined by Beijing, It is a "talent training base and science and technology service base for urban planning, construction and management in Beijing" and a "national architectural heritage protection research and talent training base".

The school originates from the Beijing Normal Elementary Industrial School in 1907. For 115 years, it has always been committed to serving the urban and rural construction and development of the capital. It has trained a large number of outstanding talents in the field of urban planning, construction and management in Beijing and provided intellectual and scientific support. The university has gone through three stages of development: college, technical secondary school and university. In 1977, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college. In 2013, it was renamed Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. In 2012, it was approved to serve the national special needs doctoral talent training project. In 2014, it was approved to establish a "architecture" post doctoral research mobile station. In 2016, it was approved to build a "future urban design innovation center". In 2017, it was approved to recommend outstanding fresh undergraduate graduates to study for postgraduate qualification without examination, In 2018, it was approved to be a doctoral degree awarding unit, and in 2019, it was approved to establish a "civil engineering" post doctoral research mobile station. It has built a comprehensive and multi-level school running pattern and talent training system from undergraduate, master, doctor to post doctoral, from full-time undergraduate education, graduate education to adult education, and international student education.

The university has 10 colleges and 1 basic teaching unit, with 11074 students of all kinds, including 8249 full-time undergraduate students, 3326 master students and 171 doctoral students. At present, there are 2 doctoral degree authorization points in first-class disciplines, 1 doctoral talent training project serving national special needs, 2 post doctoral research mobile stations, 14 master's degree authorization points in first-class disciplines, 1 interdisciplinary master's degree authorization point, and 12 master's degree authorization points in professional degree categories. It has 3 advanced disciplines in Beijing universities (architecture, civil engineering, surveying and mapping science and technology), and the fourth round of discipline evaluation result of the Ministry of Education for architecture and civil engineering is B. "Engineering" and "Environment/Ecology" have successively entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings. The university has 41 undergraduate specialties, including 17 national first-class specialty construction sites, 3 national characteristic specialties, 2 first-class specialties focused on by Beijing universities, 15 municipal first-class specialty construction sites, and 7 Beijing characteristic specialties.

Focusing on serving the national strategy and the functional construction needs of Beijing's "International Exchange Center", the University has continued to expand cooperation areas, innovate cooperation methods and improve cooperation effectiveness. At present, the school has initially constructed the "the Belt and Road" urban international innovation center and 7 thematic international innovation cooperation platforms, established cooperative relations with 101 colleges and institutions in 43 countries and regions, and practically promoted academic exchanges and international cooperation research. The "the Belt and Road" International Alliance of Architectural Universities launched and established has 72 colleges and universities from 27 countries, becoming an international alliance of professional universities with high visibility. We have trained nearly 1000 Chinese and foreign students through Chinese foreign cooperation in running schools and recruiting international students. The scale of the summer school has continued to expand, and it has become a well-known international education brand project.
