The Chinese Association for Science and Technology in the USA (CAST-USA)
The Chinese Association for Science and Technology in the USA (CAST-USA) is a non-political, non-profit non-governmental organization established in New York in the summer of 1992. It is the largest Chinese technology organization in North America. The three major purposes of the CAST-USA are: to promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in the fields of culture, technology, education, economy and trade, to carry forward Chinese traditional culture and to promote mutual understanding between the people of China and the United States, to strengthen solidarity, cooperation and exchanges among Chinese professionals.
At present, the CAST-USA has 18 branches in the United States and 3 offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in China. CAST USA holds a high-level annual conference in the United States every year in early October, with keynote speakers and honored guests include Chinese ministers to the United States, U.S. governors, U.S. senators, Nobel Prize winners, and well-known Chinese scientists.
The annual conference received strong support from the Chinese Consulate General, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, the US state government and other government agencies, and received congratulatory messages from various agencies. It has achieved fruitful results and wide recognition.
The Silicon Valley Chapter (CAST-SV) of the CAST-USA is one of the most important branches in the United States. CAST-SV was founded in 1998. The first president of CAST-SV was Zhonghan Deng, a famous academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology. In 2015, CAST-SV was established again in the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco. CAST-SV bases in Silicon Valley, the world's high-tech center, and serves the Chinese scholars in Silicon Valley, promoting Sino-US exchanges, and focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship. CAST-SV has become one of the most influential Chinese technology organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, with business coverage of recruitment fairs, lectures, entrepreneurship competitions, corporate visits, high-tech training, project investment, etc.
