Parallel Forum on Biological Medicine of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 3rd International Young Scholars Forum of the Capital Medical University held

The Parallel Forum on Biological Medicine of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 3rd International Young Scholars Forum of the Capital Medical University (CMU) were held on November 10. Under the guidance of the Beijing Bureau of Talent Work, the forums were co-hosted by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center (BOTC) and the CMU, and jointly held by Tianjin Medical University (TMU) and Hebei Medical University (HMU), with the aim of building a platform for excellent young scholars from home and abroad to conduct academic exchanges and share their achievements. 

The Parallel Forum on Biological Medicine of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 3rd International Young Scholars Forum of the Capital Medical University (CMU) are held on November 10.

Universities' leaders and relevant responsible persons attended the forum, including Cai Xin, deputy director of the BOTC, Zhou Weiying, head of the talent development of the BOTC, leaders of the CMU, Lei Ping, president of the TMU, and Di Haihun, secretary of the Party committee of the HMU. The forum was held online and on site, attracting more than 12,000 young scholars.

In his speech, Cai said that as Beijing is an international center for science and technology innovation, and science and technology as well as talents are Beijing's biggest advantage. In order to attract high-level talents, Beijing has been consistently optimizing its innovation and entrepreneurship environment and strengthening services for talents. Cai expressed his hope that young scientific and technological talents from around the world can learn about Beijing's environment for innovation and the scientific research strength of the CMU, the TMU and the HMU through this forum, contributing wisdom and strength for the high-quality development of Beijing's economy and society. Cai stressed that Beijing will provide better policies and services for the career development of young scientific and technological talents.

Sun Liguang, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the CMU, reviewed the 62 years of development of the university in his speech. He said that the CMU has trained several high-quality medical and health talents and has made breakthroughs in medical scientific research, which has contributed to Beijing and the national medical and health sectors. In recent years, the CMU has been attracting domestic and overseas high-level talents and outstanding young talents through its preferential policies and resource support.

Lei said that the forum is centered in Beijing, and focused on deepening medical cooperation in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and building a platform for academic communication, which will further advance academic cooperation, scientific research and innovation ability, as well as promote the development of medical education in the region. He expressed hope that domestic and overseas medical talents can work together to promote the development of life science and the medical and health services sectors, making contribution to the construction of a "Healthy China".

Zhai said that this forum embodies young scholars' enthusiasm for medical research, and shows the vision of the future development of life science and medical and health undertakings in China. He welcomed young people to join the HMU and vowed to provide a quality working platform, favorable treatment and a warm growth environment for young talents. 

The forum also specially invited Zhao Jizong and Dong Chen, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to give lectures.
