​Parallel Forum on Modern Urban Construction of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 6th International Youth Scholar 'Rixin Forum' of the Beijing University of Technology held

Under the guidance of the Beijing Talent Bureau, the Parallel Forum on Modern Urban Construction of the 2022 Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum and the 6th International Youth Scholar "Rixin Forum" of the Beijing University of Technology (BUT) were jointly hosted by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center (BOTC) and the BUT on November 8. University leaders, relevant responsible persons and representatives of young talents attended the forum, including Cai Xin, deputy director of the BOTC, Zhou Weiying, head of the talent development of the BOTC, Nie Zuoren, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the BUT, president of the university and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Li Siping, deputy secretary of Party committee of the BUT and Si Pengbo, director of the personnel division and the high-level talent work office. Meanwhile more than 800 domestic and overseas young scholars participated in the forum online. The forum was hosted by Li.

Cai said Beijing is an international center for science and technology innovation, and science and technology as well as talents are the city's biggest advantage. In order to attract high-level talents, Beijing has been continuously optimizing its innovation and entrepreneurship environment and strengthening services for talents. Cai expressed his hope that young scientific and technological talents both at home and abroad can fully learn about Beijing's environment for innovation, as well as the scientific research strength of the BUT through the forum, and contribute their wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of Beijing's economy and society.

Nie said that through 60 years of development, the BUT has made significant improvements in  its scientific research strength, talent building and other sectors. In recent years, the university has been constantly improving its talent attraction policy, pushing forward platform construction to gather talents and optimizing its environment for cultivating talents. He noted that the Rixin Forum is an important window for the BUT to communicate with young scholars all over the world. He hoped that young scholars can develop a new and comprehensive understanding of the BUT based on this forum. 

Si Pengbo, director of the personnel division and the high-level talent work office of the BUT, delivers a keynote speech.

Si gave a keynote speech at the forum. He introduced the BUT from the characteristics of its disciplines, talent training, scientific research and innovation, teaching faculty and social service, as well as interpreted the supportive policies for talents' introduction, training and assignment.
