Beijing holds online recruitment fair to attract more talents

An online session of the 2nd GT²HR Recruitment Fair for Global Talents was jointly hosted by the Beijing Overseas Talents Center (BOTC) and the Beijing Municipal Youth Federation. It was undertaken by the Beijing FESCO International Business Service Co., Ltd.

The recruitment fair brought together international students from over 10 Chinese universities, which included Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Tongji University and Beijing International Studies University. It was also attended by young people coming from technological enterprises, research institutions and universities.

Zeng Fulin, vice-director of the BOTC, spoke with participants about the report on the 19th CPC Central Committee to the 20th CPC National Congress, stressing on how to invigorate the country through science and education, and how to develop a strong workforce for modernization. 

The report stressed that the country must intensify its efforts to produce first-class innovators, attract the brightest minds from all over the world, expand science and technology exchanges with other countries, and create an open and globally-competitive innovation ecosystem.

Zeng added that Beijing looks forward to inviting international talents to start new business ventures as the city has redoubled its efforts to further improve the business environment, advance the building of international residential communities, schools and hospitals, and optimize government services.

Wu Yi, deputy director-general of the Beijing Overseas Talents Association, briefed attendees on the HICOOL Global Entrepreneur Summit & Entrepreneurship Competition. Workers of the BOTC's departments for talent services talked about the platform building of the GT²HR and the handling of applications from foreigners seeking employment.  

Xiaomi Corp, a leading Chinese smartphone and consumer electronics manufacturer, COMAC Beijing Aircraft Technology Research Institute and Beijing University of Technology offered 66 specific posts for international young talents in the online job fair. Representatives from the departments of human resources extended an invitation to international talents to work in Beijing or join their overseas branches.

Douglas K. Prescott, principal of a Canadian international school, shared with participants his career development and life in Beijing.

Many international young talents talked with three potential employers over opportunities, specific job positions, and salaries.
