Beijing Technology and Business University

Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) is a high-level research university in Beijing. In June 1999, the university was merged with Beijing College of Light Industry and Beijing Business College. BTBU has entered into a new development period and developed into a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary university of Science, Engineering, Literature, Law, Economics, Management, and Art, featuring business, light industry and food science. In accordance with the principle of "Openness, Innovation, Characteristics and Quality", BTBU will strive to achieve the development goal of a high-level research university with distinctive characteristics.

BTBU now offers 5 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, 1 joint doctoral program, 18 master degree programs in first-level disciplines, 19 professional master degree programs and 61 undergraduate programs. From 2002 to 2012, the university has been approved for four Beijing key disciplines: Applied Chemistry, Industrial Economics, Food Science, and Accounting, as well as six Beijing key disciplines: Applied Economics, Civil and Commercial Law, Material Processing Engineering, Computer Application Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Enterprise Management. At present, the university has 43 post-doctoral students (including 13 co-training students) and more than 17,000 students (194 doctoral students, 3941 master students, 12297 undergraduates, 419 adult undergraduates and 234 international students). There are 1,669 faculty members, among them 1,138 are full-time teachers.

Focusing on the fundamental task of personnel training, BTBU has promoted the comprehensive reform of education, teaching, and the innovation of personnel training system and mechanism, effectively improved the quality of personnel training at all levels. In January 2020, the university launched the Innovation Action Plan for talent training, taking the initiative to adapt to the objective requirements of talent training brought by economic, social, technological and cultural development in the 21st century. Supported by information technologies such as big data and blockchain, BTBU promotes the deep integration of information technology with education and teaching, and explore a new mode of personnel training featuring cross-integration and top-notch innovation. BTBU breaks the traditional management boundary based on college, major or class, and transforms into a new teaching management mode dominated by professional management and centered on curriculum, so as to fully satisfy students' freedom of learning. BTBU attaches great importance to the internationalization. It promotes exchanges and cooperation with world-class universities and academic institutions, and has established close relationships with 67 universities in 32 countries.
