Honson To, chairman of KPMG China and Asia Pacific, said the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as part of the nation's strategy of coordinated regional development, has offered multiple growth opportunities to multinational professional services companies.
Having established an intelligence and innovation center for the Greater Bay Area in Shenzhen, Guangdong province in March, KPMG plans to further expand its presence in the area and increase its employees in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao from about 13,000 to 20,000 in the next three years, To said.
In the meantime, the company also expects to increase the number of offices from 28 to 40 in these regions, he said.
"We believe China's multi-pronged measures to promote all-around opening-up, improve the business environment and fulfill its commitments will continuously increase its appeal to foreign investments," To added.
