The 2025 Maoming Marathon will be held in Maoming on Jan 5, 2025. In addition to the marathon, the event will offer the opportunity for visitors to explore the rich intangible cultural heritage of Maoming.

The marathon will feature three categories: a full marathon (42.2 kilometers) with 4,000 participants, a half marathon (21.1 km) with 5,000 participants, and a fun run (approximately 6 km) with 3,000 participants. The starting point for the marathon will be China's First Beach in Maoming.

Maoming's intangible cultural heritage items consist of national, provincial, and municipal-level items, like the Gaozhou puppet show, Gaozhou woodcut art, and Xinyi jade carving, to name a few. These cultural treasures have been preserved and passed down through generations, reflecting the deep historical and cultural roots of Maoming.
