The Zhanjiang Baosteel base started the construction of four environmental projects on March 23.

The four projects, including iron-containing solid waste disposal, packing material production, comprehensive utilization of steel slag, and sludge disposal, will help realize 100 percent recycling use of solid waste resources and zero emissions on the Baosteel Base.

The Zhanjiang Baosteel Base has made sustainable and green growth an important premise for its development. The steel base has invested a total of more than six billion yuan(about $1 billion) in environmental protection. It will realize more than 98 percent of recycling utilization of water resources, and become the first steel plant in China to achieve 100 percent recycling use of iron-containing dust within the factory.
