Passenger flow at Zhanjiang Airport has reached record numbers in the first seven months of 2015. In July, passenger volume hit 105,000, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.8 percent, the Zhanjiang Daily reported on Aug 6.

Zhanjiang Airport has made substantial efforts in 2015, launching new routes and improving airport environment and service quality.

To meet the market demand during the peak summer tourist season, Zhanjiang Airport saw the China United Airlines launching Zhanjiang-Foshan route with daily flights costing only 8 yuan ($1.29) one-way.

Taking into account the increasing passenger volume, the airport has ensured the airlines operating Zhanjiang to Guangzhou, Chengdu and Kunming routes to replace some older planes with larger ones such as B737-800s, B737-700s and A320s.

The average daily passenger volume at Zhanjiang Airport is currently around 3,000. It is estimated that the annual passenger volume would reach nearly 1.2 million in 2015.
