In 2019, the number of passengers entering and exiting customs at Zhanjiang International Airport surpassed 91,000, a year-on-year increase of 9.8 percent, and the number of inspections of more than 1,300 exit flights increased by 13.4 percent year-on-year.

Since the beginning of 2019, with the increase in foreign interactions and in the popularity of overseas travel, Zhanjiang International Airport has successively opened international routes to Sihanoukville, Cambodia and Nha Trang, Vietnam. The number of flights to foreign countries as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan has increased to more than 30 per week.

In order to provide a high-quality, efficient and safe customs clearance environment the Zhanjiang border checkpoint has ensured that passengers can enter and leave the country in no more than 30 minutes by measures such as improving the efficiency of passenger inspection and release and promoting self-service clearance.

"We have not only set up guidance posts to help passengers prepare for customs clearance in advance, but also improved the inspection efficiency to reduce the waiting time," said Hong Haiping, a staff member of the Zhanjiang border checkpoint.
