The Zhanjiang delegation submitted 52 proposals during the 3rd session of the 13th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, which was held in Guangzhou from Jan 14 to 17.
Of these proposals: 27 were about finance and economics; nine were about education, science and technology, culture, and health; eight were about societal affairs; five were about urban-rural construction environment and resources; one was about judicial supervision; one was about legislative affairs; and one was about other affairs.
The Guangdong government report noted bolstering Zhanjiang and Shantou as two provincial sub-centers for balanced regional development. Zhanjiang delegates thus made a large number of suggestions on how to achieve that goal.

In addition, they also contributed ideas on how Zhanjiang can integrate into the national major strategies, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port), and the Western Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Some of the proposals and suggestions made by Zhanjiang delegates have been adopted by the provincial people's congress, while some were attached with great significance by the provincial government and will be handled in time.
