A three-year implementation program on free screening of cervical and breast cancers (the "two cancers") for women in Zhanjiang was recently launched in the city, aiming to increase the early diagnosis and treatment rate, as well as lower the mortality rate of the "two cancers" of women.
Cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignant tumors. Currently, its incidence rate in China is only second to breast cancer, which is the most common gynecological malignancy in women all over the world.
According to the implementation program, women that have a hukou, or household registration, in Guangdong province and live in Zhanjiang or 90 underdeveloped counties, districts, and county-level cities in Jiangmen can have free examinations of the "two cancers" with their identity cards.
Zhanjiang will provide 154,068 women aged 35 to 64 years old with one free examination of the "two cancers" from 2020 to 2022.
