The Merryland Resort is situated in Xing'an County, Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, covering an area of 6,000 mu (4 square kilometers). It is included in the first batch of 5A-level scenic spots in the country, the top ten scenic spots for self-driving tourism brands in China, as well as the first batch of "National Tourism Standardized Pilot Scenic Spots" approved by the National Tourism Administration.

As the largest foreign investment projects in Guangxi with total investment of 3.1 billion yuan, the resort has finished its first phase construction and was put into operation on December 25, 2000.
