Jinchengjiang district tightens up food and drug safety

Jinchengjiang district of Hechi, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, carried out an inspection from Jan 15 to Feb 5 in an attempt to improve food and drug safety before the Lunar New Year holiday.

The local drug and food watchdog checked the business licenses, sanitation and storage methods and quality of the production sites and also ensured the safe use of food additives.

Results will be detailed to the public via television, newspaper and WeChat to urge the producers to consciously abide by the relevant provisions.

About 127 officers in four groups have been organized to go through catering, food production, circulation, drugs and medical apparatus with zero tolerance for any violation of standards of product quality and safety.

The law enforcement officers have supervised 927 production and business units and so far have ordered immediate rectification by 29, seizing 20 kilos of unsafe products and citing three units for illegal behavior.
