Winter rural tourism drive kicks off in Hechi's Nandan

Guangxi Zhang autonomous region in South China hosted a winter rural tourism promotion event in Nandan county, Hechi from Dec 9 to 10, focusing on the concentrated promotion of high-quality cultural and tourism resources in the region.

The event, organized by the autonomous region's Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the department of culture and tourism and the sports bureau, also featured promotion of team culture and tourism of Nandan.

Through diverse formats such as tourism route displays, field inspections and markets, the event aimed to optimize and integrate the region's leisure agriculture and rural tourism resources, foster collaborative development and inject fresh vitality into the region's winter tourism.

The promotion highlighted the idyllic landscapes of Hechi, its integration of tea tourism and rural scenery.

Additionally, the event featured an agricultural products exhibition area, gathering agricultural enterprises from 11 counties (districts) in Hechi and local specialty agricultural product operators from Nandan.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) periods, Hechi has consistently utilized its ecological resources, adhering to the principle of "agriculture as the foundation, culture as the soul, and tourism as the medium", to extend the agricultural, cultural, and tourism industrial chain and add value.

The region has seen a surge in rural tourism. Over the past five years, Hechi has hosted 187 million tourists, generating tourism consumption of mor than 207 billion yuan ($29.3 billion), establishing itself as a highly influential niche tourism destination in China.
