A special exhibition comprised of cultural relics from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region themed around the Maritime Silk Road during the Han Dynasty (206 BC to AD 220) was opened to the public at the Two Mausoleums of the Southern Han Dynasty Museum in Guangzhou on May 15.

The exhibition is the first of its kind to be held in the museum since it began operation in 2019. It will run until Sep 15.

A total of 120 sets of cultural relics unearthed in Guangxi are being displayed during the exhibition, including eight sets of national first-class cultural relics.

The exhibits have vividly captured the Maritime Silk Road during the Han Dynasty, covering areas including communications in trade, technology, and culture.

"We hope that more communication and exchanges in cultural relics between Guangzhou and Guangxi can be carried out," said Wang Yuanlin, vice president of the Academy of Lingnan Culture and Arts of Guangzhou University.
