148 Baiyun enterprises attend Canton Fair
The 130th session of the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, opened in Guangzhou on Oct 15. The fair attracted 148 enterprises in Baiyun district to display their products at 411 online and offline booths.
The business scope of these enterprises covers 37 categories, such as general machinery, small processing machinery and industrial accessories, household appliances, lighting equipment, electronic and electrical products, construction and decoration materials, sanitary equipment, kitchenware and household products.
With strong innovation, great development potential, high technology content and high product added value, these enterprises embodied the manufacturing capability and technical merits of Baiyun district.
“The Canton Fair is an important trade promotion platform in China. We have participated in the fair for about 20 times. By seizing these opportunities, we expanded sales through showing the advantages of our products and building connections with excellent clients,” said Zhong Zhuozhi, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Importers and Exporters in Baiyun district, and managing director of Guangzhou Master Leatherwear Company.
Master Leatherwear is a Hong Kong-invested enterprise in PU handbag design, production and sales. After 15 years of development, the company has an annual production capacity of 8 million pieces and its annual foreign exchange reached more than $50 million.
The company attaches great importance to its brand construction and independent design. In recent years, it has registered eight utility model patents, five software copyrights and 15 trademarks.
Guangzhou Inled Lighting Technology Company is another participator in the Canton Fair. As a leading manufacturer of LED products, it boasts a number of product patents. With high-quality products and novel design, Inled has been wildly welcomed by consumers at home and abroad.
Guangzhou Xuzhong Food Machinery Company is among those who attended the fair for the first time. Its business covers development, design, production and sales of food processing machinery. At present, Xuzhong has 28 branches across the country, and its sales network covers more than 40 countries and regions around the world.
In recent years, Baiyun has been committed to implementing opening-up policies and taking multiple measures to stabilize the fundamentals of foreign trade and investment. The Bureau of Science, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology has actively responded to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, expanded publicity, encouraged enterprises to participate in the fair, and helped them with booth application.
Statistics show that the total foreign trade in the district in the first half of the year reached 20.16 billion yuan ($3.15 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent.
“We have held lectures and industry salons to expound on new policies and provide market information for Baiyun enterprises from time to time, guided them to make full use of preferential policies to go global and analyzed the global economic situation for them to promote the steady development of foreign trade in the district,” Zhong said.
Baiyun will promote high-level opening-up, optimize and upgrade trade structure, expand new markets, improve economic circulation, elevate the quality and efficiency of foreign trade, and boost the development of trade and business in an all-around way.
Through building a strong industrial system with active trade promotion, forging complete industrial chains, supply chains and innovation chains and further improving trade facilitation, Baiyun will be built into a core area for high-quality development and new vitality.
