Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, located in Guangzhou’s Baiyun district, will focus on developing future industries, transportation equipment, cosmetics and smart home appliances, according to a new action plan.

Issued by the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Comprehensively Deepening Reform, the action plan extends the park’s planning area to 38 square kilometers and includes key tasks and policies for the next four years.

According to the plan, the park will forge future industries, including third generation semiconductors, smart cars and autonomous driving, next generation communication technology, brain-like intelligence, and laser-produced plasma.

The park is hoped to have a robust real economy led by future industries by 2035.

More than 10 key enterprises in the vehicle equipment and electromechanical equipment, key components and new materials, and system integration sectors are expected to settle in the park.

Relying on Baiyun e-commerce channels, celebrity brands and bestsellers will be developed by building a national-level laboratory of marine biological cosmetics and a global leading cosmetics R&D and testing system.

The plan also requires the park to enhance its innovation capability and business environment to provide growth force and better services for private businesses.

The park will integrate with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in turning into an international science and innovation center, including building mechanisms for transforming scientific and technological achievements to meet the high-quality development of the private economy.
