An opening ceremony for the Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Exhibition Center and the scientific and technological achievements transformation platform for private enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held on Oct 11. Representatives from the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the CPC Baiyun district committee, and officials from the local government of Baiyun district attended the ceremony.

The center, whose construction started in November 2020, has been put into use. A scientific and technological achievements transformation platform which introduces collaborations between schools and local governments, as well as online and offline cooperation, has also been put into operation. More than 10 service institutions and more than 20 technology transfer experts have settled in the center to provide customized services for enterprises.

With a construction area of 7,500 square meters, the center offers multi-functional exhibitions with diversified themes. Attendees of the ceremony were invited to visit the exhibition hall.

According to a director from the management committee of Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, the exhibition center will be built into a base to display sci-tech products, showcase scientific and technological achievements and support the development of private enterprises in the GBA.

A service system to boost technology upgrades, industrial agglomeration, sci-tech and financial support and innovative talent cultivation will be built to foster cooperation and provide business opportunities for non-state-owned companies in the region.

The park plans to set up a market-oriented, professional and digitalized platform for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of private enterprises in the GBA by building connections with the Peking University Science Park and China Technology Exchange.

It also intends to launch training programs to improve the innovation ability of private companies, cultivate inter-disciplinary talents in technology and management, gather technical resources, build an enterprise-oriented technological innovation system, establish a long-term mechanism for the integration of enterprises and finance and fuel the transformation and upgrading of industries in Baiyun district.
