The hospital covers 203,000 square meters and a floor area of 458,000 square meters. It has 3,601 beds and its medical facilities are worth 1.4 billion yuan ($220 million). In 2018, the hospital’s outpatient and emergency treatments totaled 3.25 million, and its number of discharged patients reached 119,000.

The hospital has 111 diagnosis and treatment subjects, a first-level clinical medicine doctoral degree authorization point and a post-doctoral research station for clinical medicine. Its internal medicine (digestive system disease) is a national key discipline, and surgery (orthopedic surgery) is a national key development discipline. The hospital has 14 national key clinical specialty projects, four national key TCM disciplines, a national key laboratory for the prevention and treatment of organ failure, a national clinical medicine research center for chronic kidney diseases, and a national discipline innovation and talent attraction base for higher education institutions. After over 70 years of development, the hospital has formed technical features and distinctive advantages in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases, kidney diseases, blood diseases, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as the comprehensive and biological treatment of tumors, transplantation of kidney, liver and other organs, neurology and cerebral surgery, microscopic trauma surgery, orthopedics, interventional diagnosis and treatment, extensive burns, contingency for major incidents, cosmetic surgery, prenatal medicine and assisted reproduction, image diagnosis, and pharmacy.
