Metro
Currently, Guangzhou has nine metro lines, including Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4, Line 5, Line 8, APM line, Guangfo Metro and the first section of Line 6 totaling 260 kilometers in length. The experimental tram route was formally operated by the end of 2014. In 2017, the total length of Guangzhou Metro reached more than 500 kilometers with the operation of the Xilang-Lijiao section of the Guangzhou-Foshan line, the second section of Line 6, the first section of Line 7, the southern extension of Line 4, the northern extension of Line 8, the first section of Line 13, the first section of Line 14, Line 14 (to China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Station) and Line 21.
The fare is charged by mileage. It is 2 yuan if the mileage is no more than 4 km. The fare increases by l yuan for every four kilometers within a range of 4 km to 12 km, for every six kilometers within the range of 12 km to 24 km, and for every eight kilometers when the mileage is more than 24 km. The ticket price for the APM line is fixed at 2 yuan.
Trains on Line 3 and 4 are equipped with emergency phones. When emergencies occur, passengers can push a button and inform the driver of any accidents that occur on the train.
