The Guangzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Center is located in the core area of Baiyun New Town in Baiyun district, adjacent to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. With functions like science popularization, government-citizen interaction, academic exchanges, information querying and project publicity, it is a comprehensive exhibition platform for urban planning, land development and regional culture.
The exhibition center is a public welfare institution subordinate to the Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau. With a construction area of 84,600 square meters, the center has an exhibition area of about 10,000 square meters. It opened to the public in April 2018.
Focusing on the theme “realizing the new vitality of the old town” and the action plan “four new highlights”, the exhibition center has engaged in displaying the historical evolution, short-term planning and long-term vision of the urban development in Guangzhou, the great achievements made by the city in implementing the Party’s principles and policies on urban planning and construction, as well as major accomplishments in showing the comprehensive strength of Guangzhou.
The center has attached great importance to patriotism education. With rich exhibition events, complete infrastructure, sound management, and effective promotion, it has attracted over 870,000 visitors since opening to the public, including over 6,000 group visits organized by official delegations, government-affiliated institutions, overseas investigation teams, schools, associations, enterprises, experts and scholars. More than 430 activities have been held in the center.
