The second phase of the Baiyun Rail Transit and High-end Manufacturing Research and Development Base, a major rail transit project, broke ground on June 23 in the core area of Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park.

The 38,900-square-meter base is being built by a subsidiary of Guangzhou Baiyun High-tech Zone Investment Group. 

It has a floorage of 77,800 sq m, with the first phase covering 52,600 sq m and was built out of pre-existing buildings on the lot. The first phase has three production factories and has already become to Guangzhou Baiyun Chemical Industry.

Guangzhou Baiyun Chemical Industry is a domestic leading enterprise in the sealant industry, mainly offering sealant solutions for building and rail transit industries. 

The second phase will include two factories and outdoor supporting facilities with a total floorage of 52,600 sq m, 5,100 sq m of which will be underground. It is expected to become an industrial platform for advanced technologies in rail transit equipment manufacturing, and leading enterprises in the industrial chain will be sought upon the beginning of operations in August 2023. 

Guangzhou Baiyun High-tech Zone Investment Group has laid out plans for five rail transit industrial hubs with a total area exceeding 360,000 sq m.
